The central line bundle includes five main steps:

  1. Prepare the skin with chlorhexidine.
  2. Wash hands immediately before gloving and gowning.
  3. Use full barrier precautions.
  4. Hat and mask for all in the room.
  5. Remove lines when no longer necessary.
